New Antenna Installations

Finding the best match

We take into consideration what antenna is required as  well as which transmitter that we need to align the antenna to. This is  specifically done to ensure that we will provide the strongest and  clearest signal. Items like 4G interference from telephone towers and  mobile phones creates barriers and hence is a matter of concern.  Therefore the correct mounting position on the roof needs to be  identified as it will provide the most cosmetic and ergonomic  installation possible.

Once we’ve selected the correct antenna,  we will then install the antenna to the desired location. After this, we  will test all components in the antenna system and then finally tune  the TVs in the home to the correct settings. Installations may vary  across different types of homes, whether the roof is a tile roof, a  colour bond roof or even a flat roof.

Mast Head Amplifiers/Booster

A mast head amplifier is a device used to boost a TV signal at the TV aerial,

where it is at its strongest. It absorbs the signal received by aerial and sends it through the cable and to the TV, already amplified.

Do I need one?

There are a few varying factors that have to be taken into consideration, the number of outlets, the distance to the transmitter, the reception area.

Each house is different with different requirements, if the signal is low at the wall plate, an amplifier is usually the solution to fix the issues after ensuring the system is okay.

Replace/Upgrade

With the change in digital TV in the last few years, your already  existing antenna may not be capable of picking up all the existing  channels. Therefore, that could be part of the reception issues.

Antennas should not become rusty, but if they do then this will interfere with the signal.

Lighting storm can cause a power surge damaging the antenna usually requiring a replacement.

Broken Elements?

EACH ELEMENT ON A PROPERLY DESIGNED  ANTENNA IS CUT TO A DIPOLE LENGTH TO MATCH THE FREQUENCY OF A  CORRESPONDING CHANNEL TO RECEIVE THAT INFORMATION PROPERLY. THE COST TO  REMEDY THIS WOULD TYPICALLY BE A NEW ANTENNA

Water logged antenna or water logged cable?

Does this really happen? Yes, eventually, over time, water will penetrate anything. However on inferior designs this happens much sooner. Water gets inside the tubing of inferior designs, as water and electrical conductivity does not work.

Water logged cable also creates issues of connections rusting out, due to the incorrect type of fitting used, poor cable or damaged cabling.

Relocation

Getting solar panels installed and need your antenna

moved?

When solar panels are installed they  need to be installed on specific parts of the roof for optimal  performance from the sun and the panels. Sometimes this means they need  to go where your TV antenna or satellite dish is located. If it's a  simple move, some electricians will attempt the relocation of the dish  or antenna but the majority of the time it involves joining cable,  remasting, realliging of the antenna or other unforeseen problems. Call  us today to move your antenna.

Why relocating an antenna should be  done professionally is because disrupting a perfectly good antenna can  at times disrupt the system, requiring new cable, new splitters and even  new TV antenna being needed. Without the proper testing equipment or  know how these antennas cannot and should not be touched or moved in  case one of these situations will cause problems down the track.
